Grievance Redressal Cell

The Grievance Redressal Cell was constituted to probe into student grievances. The cell attempts to address genuine problems and internal complaints of students, whatever may be the nature of the problem.

Objectives
  • To address grievances related to academic, administrative, or personal issues.
  • To promote a safe, respectful, and harmonious environment within the institution.
  • To get suggestions from students for institutional improvement.
  • To take necessary steps for improvement in light of grievances.

The students and staff members are advised to submit their grievances in the register available with the Member Convener who will place the grievances to the Principal for information and further action.

Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)

In compliance with the instructions of the National Commission for Women and the guidelines issued in implementation of the directives of the Hon'ble Supreme Court Judgement dated 13th August, 1997, it is hereby decided to form a committee of ICC (Internal Complaint Committee) for maintaining the constitution of ("ICC"), a body envisaged to receive complaints on sexual harassment at the workplace from an aggrieved woman, as well as to inquire into and make recommendations to the employer on the action required pursuant to its inquiry of such complaint made.

SC/ST Committee

The Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) Cell of the institute promotes the interests of students belonging to the reserved categories and guides them to optimally utilize the benefits of schemes offered by the Government of India. The SC/ST Cell at SSA Bhubaneswar functions in accordance with the guidelines issued by All India Council for Technical Education and Biju Patnaik University of Technology, along with directives from the Government of India.

The Cell is committed to the upliftment and welfare of students and employees belonging to SC/ST categories and other weaker sections of society, ensuring equality, protection from discrimination, and access to institutional support systems.

  • It is expected to provide special inputs in areas where the students experience difficulties.
  • The Cell may conduct regular remedial coaching classes on life skills, personality development, writing assignments and making presentations.
  • The Cell also organizes interactive sessions and informal meetings with students to attend to their personal, social and academic problems.
  • Conducting and coordinating training programs for Students and Staff: Teaching and Non-Teaching.

RTI CELL

Right to Information Act mandates timely response to the citizens' request for Government information. It is an initiative taken by the Department of Personnel & Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions to provide an RTI portal gateway to the citizens for quick search of information regarding appellate authorities, PIOs and other RTI related information published by various public authorities under the Government of India as well as the State Government.

The basic objective of the Right to Information Act is to empower citizens, promote transparency and accountability in the functioning of the Government, contain corruption and make democracy work effectively for the people. An informed citizen is better equipped to keep necessary vigil on the instruments of governance and make the Government more accountable to the governed.

Women's Protection Cell

The Women Cell is constituted to help and maintain a harmonious atmosphere at the Institute, enabling women to pursue their work with dignity and reassurance. The Cell continuously works to raise awareness on gender equality issues and functions as the “Complaints Committee” under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.

The institute is committed to maintaining a professional learning and working environment for students, employees and guests. One of the Women Cell’s primary responsibilities is to prevent gender discrimination and inappropriate sexual conduct through promoting gender sensitivity and justice among all members of the institution.

Sexual Harassment Includes
  • Physical contact and advances.
  • Demand or request for sexual favors.
  • Making sexually colored remarks.
  • Displaying pornography materials.
  • Any unwelcome physical, verbal or non-verbal conduct of sexual nature.
Hostile Work Environment Includes
  • Pressure for dates or uncomfortable meetings.
  • Making offensive remarks about appearance, religion, race or disability.
  • Inappropriate touching or intimidating behavior.
  • Sharing inappropriate photos, videos or messages without consent.
  • Humiliating treatment affecting health, dignity or safety.

Anti Ragging Committee

As per AICTE regulation on curbing the menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions 2013, hereinafter called the "Regulations".

What is Ragging?

“Any Conduct whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness any other student, indulging in rowdy or undisciplined activities which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in a fresher or a junior student or asking the students to do any act or perform something which such student will not in the ordinary course and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of a fresher or junior student.”

Ragging is a Social Crime. As per above referred AICTE “Regulations”, Ragging is strictly prohibited in the College Campus as well as outside the College Campus. All students are hereby informed not to indulge in any kind of Ragging activity either directly or indirectly. A strict action as per AICTE “Regulations” will be taken.

(A) For Senior Student:

The senior student should note that they should not engage themselves in any kind of Ragging activity inside as well as outside of College Campus. Strict action as per above AICTE “Regulations” will be taken against them if anybody is found indulging in Ragging activity.

(B) For all Students & Parents / Guardians:

All the students and their Parents/Guardians should carefully read and fully understand the provisions contained in the said COA “Regulations”. All the students and their Parents/Guardian should submit the enclosed Affidavit along with the Admission form at the time of Payment of fees. The student who fails to submit the Affidavit will not be granted admission in the College.

(C) Anti Ragging Committee and Anti Ragging Squad:

The following Committee and Squad are formed at College level to effectively look into the ragging cases and to monitor the activities of the students inside as well as outside the College Campus.

(D) For Fresher Student:

The fresher student can contact any of the Committee Member or the Principal at any time, if anybody tries to do Ragging with them. The Fresher student should desist from doing anything against their will even if ordered by the seniors. They should immediately contact the Office or any of the Anti Ragging Committee Member and report the incident immediately. The College will take stringent action against the senior student involved in Ragging. The fresher’s should not fear of any action and should not tolerate any kind of atrocities of seniors students.
